What should the attorney look for when retaining a LNC?

	Experience in both the medical and legal fields;
	Education which demonstrates the LNC has continued to keep up to date with the changing trends in both the medical and legal areas;
	Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to communicate in both written and oral communication skills;
	Professional growth and involvement with peer organizations at the national and local levels.

Certifications:

Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC): only recognized certification provided by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC): certification provided through the Medical-Legal Institute.
